It’s finally Spring! As a self-proclaimed winter lover, this year I was ready for Spring a lot earlier than other years! We had a mini Spring last month and then the chill of winter returned. I am ready for new clothes for warmer weather, and bright colors in my garden.
Can I trust you with a secret? I have a beauty confession to make and I think I am not alone: I have approximately 56,676 tubes of nude lipstick. Throughout middle school, high school, and college I mostly stuck to lip glosses and my trusty Chapstick. Still color shy, I graduated to nude lipsticks and kept slowly adding to my collection.
Just recently I’ve started to see the early signs of aging in my lips: losing pigment. Brian noticed that I’ve been wearing lipstick more lately, and this is the reason why. Now is a good a time as ever to start experimenting with lipstick shades, am I right?

Today I want to share with you a few of my go-to nude shades for golden skintones (baby steps people!). This post is in collaboration with a few bloggers you should definitely check out, and they have such lovely bright Spring lipsticks to share with you. I hope to find the courage to wear those colors on my lips (and not just as swatches in the store, haha!).
It should come as no surprise that I would like a lip balm type of lipstick. If Chapstick is your jam, I highly recommend checking out L’Oréal Le Balm at the drugstore. This formula is very moisturizing but it gives you a subtle tint of color that won’t overwhelm. Nourishing Nude is the closest to my natural lip color, so it’s something that gives me that perfect no-makeup makeup look.

ColourPop Ultra Satin lipstick in Strip is quite possibly my favorite go-to when it comes to nude matte lipsticks. I once tried the Ultra Matte formula and found it too drying, not to mention that the shade Beeper turned a purple hue on my lips. Not the look I was going for. The Ultra Satin lip still looks matte but without the dryness that plagues some formulas. This shade looks amazing on all skintones!

Whenever I want to wear peachy tones, the L’Oréal Infallible Pro Matte Lipstick in Nudist is the nude I go with. I love this lipstick paired with my Too Faced Sweet Peach eye palette. This lippie is definitely the warmest in this roundup, and I make sure I rotate it. I often like to pair it with Sephora clear lipgloss because it can look a bit dry at times.

I felt the sassiest in Maybelline Matte Ink in Amazonian. Maybelline hit it out of the park with their Matte Ink lipsticks. I’ve tried several drugstore matte lipsticks and the creaminess of this formula, in addition to how long it lasts, makes it worth much much more than its price tag.
Some of my favorite beauty bloggers rave about the shade Seductress, so if you’re fairer skinned (or if your skin has neutral or cool undertones), definitely check it out. The Amazonian plays better with the golden tones of my skin.
There you have it! My favorite nudes! All the details for the rest of my makeup can be found below.

These all look beautiful on you but I think the peachy one is my favorite. I struggle to wear peachy nudes with my skin tone and I also always think they make my teeth look yellow (or maybe I just need to drink less wine and coffee lol). My favorite line of nude lipstick that I’ve found recently is the Rimmel Kate nude line. I wear color 45 but they seem to have a nude offering for most (not all) skintones. A great drugstore buy if you want to add another to your collection.
