While fall is around the corner, my favorite nails are nude nails. I appreciate a sizzling hot red polish every now and then, and the moodier colors of fall, but there’s something sophisticated and elegant about nude nails that keeps me going back no matter the season.
The best nude for your skin tone can sometimes be very tricky to find. I have recently been on a quest for the perfect nude lipstick, as the Florida sun gives me varying shades of a golden tan throughout the year. I have a yellow undertone (I envy those tanned, rosy-hued skin tones!) which has made finding a rosy nude very difficult. However, I think I finally found my match made in heaven!
Essie Au Natural: Of the three Essie polishes in this list, this one is the warmest toned. It looks great when I wear cool-hued tops like blues and lavenders. And who said 6th grade art class would never come in handy? Anyone remember the complementary color wheel?
OPI I’ll Have a Gin & Tectonic: While this one isn’t technically a color I would categorize as nude, I thought I’d add this curveball into the mix as it is just so pretty in person! This polish made me stop in my tracks at Ulta. In the bottle, it looks almost identical to Dulce de Leche, but once applied it acquires a warm coral tone. It would go perfectly with the warm, peachy makeup looks that the Urban Decay Naked Heat palette has made popular.
Essie Mademoiselle: I love love love this Essie polish. It’s a little on the rosy side but it does not clash with warm skin tones. I feel it enhances the natural pink shade of my nail. It’s a little translucent after two coats, but so pretty.
OPI Dulce de Leche: I am currently obsessed, obsessed, with this nail polish! I am wearing it below for reference. It has the perfect marriage of rosy nude tones for my golden undertones. I recently used it for an at-home manipedi and am in love. Buy this nail polish! You will not regret it!
Essie Sequin Sash: This one is unfortunately sold out or maybe even discontinued. But it has tiny flecks of silver “sequins” in it that provides such pretty sparkle for when you want nude with a flair.
Revlon Gray Suede: This is the nude polish I’ve had the longest. It has a smooth and velvety application. I’m honestly surprised that I don’t see more Revlon brand nail polishes in the nail salons after seeing the quality of this polish!
OPI Samoan Sand: Probably one of the oldest polishes in my stash, this little guy is my favorite in the dead of winter when my skin is at its palest, but it is even beautiful in the summer when I’m tanned. With its perfect golden wheat hue, and no shimmer, it provides the perfect backdrop for your accessories.
