My happy place–the beach. When family and friends visit us from out of town, trips to the beach are a given. But after a trip to my happy place, between the sweat, sunscreen, and sand, a shower is the first thing on my mind (after food, of course!)
Do you have a favorite shower gel? For me, shower gels never last long enough, especially in the hot Florida summers. Sometimes I average three showers a day when I do yardwork. No joke. If you start to crunch numbers shower gel, especially the ones from a popular bath shop, starts to add up into a hefty monthly beauty expense. For that reason I’ve always begrudgingly used bars of soap.

That is, until now. See, part of feeling clean is also smelling clean. I looooove showers simply for that fresh, clean feeling and the lingering fragrance left behind by a good shower gel. Oftentimes, scents are the most powerful triggers for memories, outlasting visual or auditory memories. My mother’s favorite scent for lotions and bath products is cherry blossom.
When I heard that Suave Essential body washes smell as beautiful and work as well as those from Bath & Body Works, I was a little incredulous. I’ve used Suave shampoos for years, because as often as I shower, I refuse to spend $30 or more on a bottle of shampoo. Needless to say, I trust the Suave brand, and so I thought I’d give their body washes a try. I mean, for roughly $2 a bottle, why not? I grabbed one in several fragrances to put them to the test.

To say I was surprised is an understatement. The Suave Essentials Wild Cherry Blossom Body Wash fragrance smells just like the Bath & Body Works Cherry Blossom fragrance, the scent and brand of shower gel (and hand cream and body lotion) my mother has used for years. Actually, in my honest opinion, I think it smells better than the Bath & Body Works version.

Suave Essentials bodywashes lather really well, even in our hard water. It is more of a gel than a liquid, and a little goes a long way. Of the different scents I’ve tested, I love the Amethyst Sunset the most. It has a romantic combination of scents of purple jasmine, apricot, ruby red grapefruit, and sweet linden flower. I love the $2 price tag even more, as I can have several scents stocked in each bathroom. That way, my guests are pampered with a variety of scents that will finish off the perfect beach day.
So, will you ?
