Sunday afternoon I went to Savannah by myself for the first time in ages. It was a gloriously beautiful day. It was one of those days you only see a handful of times in a year. The days that prompt you to praise God for the beauty he gave us on this earth.

One thing I love about living in the South is the Spanish moss. It is absolutely breathtaking! It drapes the famed Savannah oaks with cascading willowy capes. It almost makes up for the lack of leaves changing colors in the fall. Almost.

I only walked around for a short while. My knee is getting better, but after a while I realized I had been walking around snapping pictures like a tourist for nearly two hours. Oops. Time flies when you’re having fun!

I really wanted some ice-cream from Leopold’s but the line was out the door. Literally. I can still count on it being hot enough for ice-cream well into October and November. Any takers?
In a few hours I will take on a 3-hour private photography tour of Savannah. Excited is an understatement! I’m already comfortable in shooting in AV mode (aperture priority) on my DSLR. The photographers told me that I’d be shooting in full manual by the end of our session! Yay!
Expect another photo dump of pictures of Savannah soon. This city is truly a dream for photography. It’s just gorgeous.
Have you been to Savannah?

I go to Savannah all the time! Well, not as much as I used too. I live in Greenville, SC now but grew up and still have family in Beaufort. At least twice a year my brother and I end up in Savannah for some shopping. I always forget how pretty it is there!
Lisette says
Ooh! What do you like to shop for in Savannah?
Vett says
these photos are so gorgeous!! I love Savannah!
Megan C. Stroup says
Wow thanks for sharing these beautiful pictures! Sometimes I can forget how beautiful our own country is because I get distracted by all the other corners of the world. I love the details you captured of Savannah, especially the fence in that first picture.
Lisette says
Thanks Megan! There is wrought iron fencing all over Savannah. I’m in love!
Kristin Schouten says

I’m originally from Georgia and have been to Savannah several times. I lived very close to there after graduating college and would always go down to River Street on the weekends. Savannah’s sweet, southern, and quaint, which is what I love about it. Its definitely a spot to stop through when your in that area of southeastern Georgia.
Lisette says
It is definitely a sweet and quaint city. I love that there so much beauty to look at and plenty of parking!
Jo-Anne says
Wow what awesome photos loved all of them, I have not heard of Savannah, ok if I have heard of it I do not remember at this point and right now is what matters because right now is when I am sitting here writing a comment
Ange says
LOVE Savannah!!
Christine says
I have been to Savannah twice. The first time we just walked around then during our second visit last July (God, it was hot), we took the Trolley Tour (sounds so touristy but a must when you are rushed for time) and learned so so much about the city. I am Canadian and when people ask me if I would have to choose anywhere in the world to live… it would definitely be somewhere in the south!
Lisette says
I am planning on taking a trolley tour as well. I lived in NYC for over half my life and never did anything touristy. I now regret it badly!
Kelsey says
There are gorgeous! Lovely photos Lisette!
Lisette says
Thanks love!
