Are you one of those people who struggles to mail out Christmas cards? I always have. To be honest, I’ve never sent out Christmas cards. Either there was no money in my budget to splurge on cards and postage, or I never found e-cards worthy enough to send via e-mail.
I’ve never spoken about my family on here much, and it’s deliberate. For personal reasons, I’m not going to go into the details. All I can say is that I do love my parents, no matter what disagreements have drifted us apart. When I was contacted to look into Open Me, I immediately thought of them.
Open Me is an innovator. It allows you to choose from a hand curated card boutique online, add a personalized message, and choose your method of delivery: snail mail or e-mail. It’s the perfect solution to the problem of going out to the store. Also, I was able to select a card and personalize it with pictures. Did I mention that Open Me also mails the card on my behalf? (I just had to say that again!)
Open Me’s site was extremely easy to use. My favorite part was that it gave me the option of logging in through my Facebook account. This made personalizing my card with pictures a SNAP! I chose a picture from Christmas six years ago with my mom, and a picture of my father-daughter dance on my wedding day with my dad. These pictures both meant a lot to me, and even though the second one wasn’t Christmas related, I know they’ll also mean a lot to my parents.

This process was even sweeter when I was able to add a personalize message to my parents. Since they speak Spanish, it was important to me to include a message in a language they understand. The process was really simple and the message included my name at the end. I was extremely pleased.

Once I entered my personal message, I was able to review and “flip through” the pages of the card. At this point I could have chosen to send the e-card for free via e-mail. I chose to pay the $4 and have the card printed, put in an envelope and delivered via snail mail (the kind that really counts) by Open Me.

I got a nice confirmation screen of my purchase and I know that come Saturday, my parents should be getting a nice card in their mailbox back North.

That’s it! Easy as pie! After using their service, I highly recommend Open Me. It made it easy for me to get a card that my family won’t throw away after the season, and I was able to add a personal note all without having to look for an envelope and stamp.

Thanks for the review! I really am into personalized stuff: calendars, planners, photo books, mugs, you name it (but not the kind you get at the mall with your name spraypainted onto a shirt). It needs to look chic, classy, simple.
I’m heading over there now! One personal goal is to send several “just because” cards to people each month. I may start using these because it’ll be easier than going to the store, picking out a generic card, and then taking it to the mailbox. Ya know?
I’m sorry to hear you and your folks have drifted. I think it’s really sweet you chose them for your card here. The picture of you and your dad is gorgeous; I’m a huge fan of the father/daughter dance, and the black&white works so well on it!

I order personalised Christmas Cards which I send to people I don’t see very often and I also send a lot of ecards to blog friends so my answer would be yes I would.

As a card-o-holic I had never heard of ‘Open Me’ but I am intrigued and will check them out. Cool idea, especially that there is a snail mail option because I completely agree “it’s the only kind of mail the counts.” :) In fact I blog about such things over at http://www.ritewhileucan.com You may enjoy.
