Those were the vows I took almost five years ago. Sometimes I can’t believe we’ve been married for that long. Throughout those five years we each have seen our fair share of illnesses, surgeries and other bouts of health issues. And through it all, we’ve never left each other’s side.
This weekend was spent in convalescence at home. B’s experiencing severe back pain and we’re not sure why. There was also a trip to the ER. Those are never fun. Especially when they give you medications that cause a severe reaction and leaves the other spouse scared to death. This happened in the ER room even after we told the doctor B reacts badly to a certain medicine when taken by mouth. The doctor insisted that since it wasn’t an “allergic reaction,” B could take it administered by hypothermic needle. OK, doc.
Shortly after the shots, he complained of nausea. Then his face went deathly pale. His lips looked white and all the pink drained from his cheeks. I ran to the nurse’s station and got her. When we got back B had broken out in a cold sweat and his blood pressure also dropped. All because of this one medication. Never again.
It’s scary seeing your loved one go through that. Even worse is seeing them experience debilitating pain and not being able to help them.
Here’s hoping that his chiropractic session helps!
Update: His chiropractic appointment went splendid! He’s not in as much pain and is [almost] a new man! Thanks everyone for your thoughts and good wishes!

I have been dealing with debilitation back pain for months. I have tried everything, but the only thing that has worked for me is to go gluten and sugar free. Definitely something to look into!

That is scary! I am glad to hear that he is doing better, but that is something you never want to see on the face of your significant other!

Sorry to hear what your husband went through. I had severe back pain for almost two years and I finally gave in and saw a chiropractor and it helped so much. I needed to go several times a week but it was worth it.

Sorry to hear about your hubby, hope he feels better soon!
I have had ongoing issues with my back/neck etc and find by going to the chiropractor and message therapy once a month, I am fine and only occasionally have to take medicine. If the chiropractor doesn’t help, you should look into an Osteopath.
About three years ago, I was in really rough shape (Trigenimal Neuralgia) and ended up visiting an Osteopath. I was blown away by what she did and the results after treatment. After doing what ever it is they do, she had all these questions about when I was born. I had no idea the complications and brought my mom to my next appointment – every single thing she suspected, she was bang on. It was insane. Once she fixed issues from when I was a baby, from when I broke my hip, hurt my back, etc, she was able to fix the current problem!!
