A few weeks ago I received an exciting Influenster Voxbox with Kérastase products for review. I received the Kérastase Nutritive Bain Satin 2 for fine hair, and Kérastase Nutritive Masquintense for fine hair. Since I just recently got balayage done to my hair I was ecstatic to incorporate something with a little more TLC in my daily routine. While I have an oily scalp, my ends are super dry so I was happy to try the products.
First, let’s talk about the Kérastase Nutritive shampoo. My hair needs to be washed every other day, if not every day. There’s no amount of dry shampoo in the world that will let me go without shampoo for more than two days (and I’ve tried many kinds!). It may be my hard water, but I didn’t feel like the shampoo lathered as much as other shampoos in my bathroom. Something that concerned me was that it was not sulfate-free. Everything I’ve read about color-treated hair says to stay away from sulfates, so right off the bat I was a bit apprehensive about losing all my money down the drain (literally).
After my shower, my hair did feel drier than normal. Like I said, it might be our hard water, but unfortunately I don’t think I can continue using this shampoo. I’ve read many positive reviews on their site, but I’ve also read some reviews saying their hair seemed drier. All in all, this is something that you may want to try if you have dry hair that hasn’t been color-treated.
My experience with the Kérastase Nutritive Masquintense is the complete opposite. I am in LOVE with this hair mask! Like, there aren’t enough heart-eyed emojis to express just how much I love this hair mask.
Ingredients:
Aqua/Water, Cetyl Alcohol, Peg-180, Glycerin, Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine, Amodimethicone, Cetrimonium Chloride, Lanolin, Lauryl Ped/Ppg-18/18 Methicone, Methylparaben, Cetyl Esters, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Citric Acid, Hydroxypropyltrimonium Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Glyceryl Linoleate, Chlorhexidine, Dihydrochloride, Trideceth-6, Glyceryl Oleate, Citronellol, Linalool, Hydroxycitronellal, Hexyl Cinnamal, Alpha-isomethyl Ionine, Coumarin, Geraniol, Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde, Safflower Glucosides, Glyceryl Linolenate, Parfum/Fragrance.
As soon as I opened the jar, a rich and expensive fragrance warmly greeted me. It was just about love at first sniff, haha. The mask itself is thick, but it doesn’t feel thick once on your hair. It seemed like my hair actually drank the product…which for a hair mask is exactly what you want it to do. You want your hair to become saturated with the hydrating components of the mask.
I will without a doubt continue to use the Kérastase Nutritive Masquintense in my weekly haircare routine. The fragrance alone is enticement enough! If you’re looking for a deep conditioning treatment, and also looking for that luxurious spa smell, this hair mask is for you!
Thank you Influenster for this amazing Voxbox!
