The problem with shopping and redesigning your space is that you feel like you’re never done. There’s always something new that catches the light, and like the moth to the flame, you want it.
I don’t know when I started favoring gold over silver, but there was a good portion of my college days when silver was all the rage. I only had silver-toned jewelry. I was also introduced to all the silver jewelry at Tiffany & Co. How I am now buying gold-toned jewelry and home décor surprises me. I thought I’d never buy gold-toned jewelry again. So much so that I insisted that my wedding bands be made of white gold. Who knows? Maybe the silver-toned jewelry craze might return.
Until then, here’s what I’m currently coveting that has given me a gold rush. And it goes without saying, I’m envisioning these in my little office!
1// I’ve been seeing this darling little gold zebra popping up everywhere. Made of glazed porcelain, the Jonathan Adler gold metallic zebra dish
2// Morning coffee (or tea) plays dress-up in this Reiko Kaneko Lip Tease Gold Mug. It also would look gorgeous on any desk holding pens or pencils. What do you think?
3// The Nate Berkus Collection for Target has amazing pieces that are sure to make your space look its best. This gold tortoise shell box holds anything you want to keep out of site. Phone chargers, glasses, contact lens case, you name it, this baby can handle it.
4// Nadine’s recent post on how she keeps her blog and life organized inspired me to go out and buy a small notebook to jot down all those great blog ideas that come to me when I’m not by my computer. Although the one I have can’t be found in stores anymore, this gold cabana striped notebook by Sugar Paper has had me lusting over it for months now.
5// I saw this abstract wall art by Nate Berkus last week while shopping at Target and, oh my word, are they gorgeous. I bought materials to make these myself so I can save a few gold coins for other items in this list. Stay tuned for the tutorial!
6// I’ve been a fan of the leopard print for the longest time. But seeing that this is the second zebra item in this list might be indicating a shift in my tastes. What room couldn’t benefit from a super chic gold zebra rug (similar
7// This geometric gold tray (also a Nate Berkus piece!) was another item that caught my eye at Target. I had it in my hands at one point but I didn’t buy it…knowing full well that I wanted it. My husband says that my shopping’s deleterious effects to our bank account don’t come in the form of huge chunks, but rather more like a death by a thousand paper cuts. I make small purchases that add up to a large amount sometimes. Whoopsies.
What are you currently coveting? What would you do with items from this list? I’m curious!

I’m so with you on the jewelry thing…almost everything I own is silver and now I find myself wanting gold!
Lisette says
Crazy, right? I wore all gold-toned jewelry as a kid, then in college silver-toned, now… ugh. These trends! Haha.

I’ll take on of each, please and thank you!

I want all the things at Target. It’s a good thing I don’t live near a Target, haha. My bank account thanks me! Stay tuned for a tutorial soon on those gold wall pieces by Nate Berkus. They’re easily duplicated for a fraction of the cost!

I just love gold too! I’m also a huge rose gold fan, even though I know it’s a little played out right now. You definitely discovered some adorable gold accents for your home!

I used to only love silver jewelry and accessories too and now i’m totally obsessed with gold as well. it’s funny how that happens. I don’t know if I would want to switch to gold wedding jewelry though since white gold still seems classic for that. maybe I just need two sets of rings ha.

I’m a big fan of all things gold. Target definitely has a lot of cute home decor stuff in gold. I feel like jewelry-wise I have a collection of both gold and silver now since I used to buy only silver. I wish I could be more adventurous with mixing metals. I like the look, but I always feel like it will look stupid on me.

Hahaha I thought this was going to be an article on that silly reality show Gold Rush and plot lines you’re coveting (or hoping to see next year). But these beautiful gold pieces are waay better. :-) I just discovered your blog from GABlogger.com (which I also just discovered–doesn’t look like it’s really used, however…hmmm a shame). Anyway–I’m glad I found you. Definitely will follow. You’ve got great stuff!
Cheers!

Obsessed with it all!! There was a gold polka dot Kate Spade planner I wanted last year but it sold out before I could get my hands on it. I still haven’t forgotten about it!
