A little over a week ago I had the privilege of attending my first charity event in Jacksonville. The Beaches Town Center Boutique Fashion Show and Pop Up Party benefitted Dreams Come True of Jacksonville, a local wish granting organization dedicated to fulfilling the dreams of children with life-threatening illnesses. I won a set of VIP tickets, which included a swag bag of goodies, a glass of wine, and priority seating.

The event was held at The Hotel Palms in Atlantic Beach, a cute and welcoming hotel a stone’s throw from the beach. I arrived right before sunset, and I couldn’t help but look up and notice how beautiful the cabbage palms looked that evening.

The hotel’s courtyard was arranged with pretty bamboo chairs around its perimeter, in addition to four rows creating two additional “runways.” Each chair was decked out with swag bags with goodies from the event’s sponsors comprised of local boutiques in Beaches Town Center. Namely: Ashley Gryre, Fig & Willow, Jax Surf and Paddle, Jaffi’s and DRIFT Boutique.
I wore an ivory dress from Lulus (similar), and the same turquoise earrings from the event with the North Florida Influencers.

Both Sasha and Tanner were wearing pieces from the Ashley Gryre boutique. We got a chance to see their outfits before the fashion show, and they looked spectacular!

This was my first fashion show, so I’m afraid I wasn’t able to catch the names of all of the models and details of what they were wearing. However, I was glad to be in attendance, as I got a real sense of what fashion in Florida is all about.

Staying cool is important in our heat and humidity. Exposed skin is not only sexy, but it also helps keep you cool. Loose, flowing fabric is better than form fitting clothing (now I know!)

After the show was over, I took a stab at “strutting my stuff.” I got in a couple of confident steps. And then…I tripped, haha.

Thankfully not too badly, but it was enough to undo my attempts at grace. To cap off the night, we receive the good news that the charity event raised over $4,000 to help sick children! It was a great night!
