Have you ever taken a look at the tag on your shirt and had no idea what those laundry symbols meant? You’re not alone. Who knew there were so many rules on laundering?
Personally, only some of those washing machine symbols make sense to me, like the ironing ones with the dots, for example. My iron has most of those symbols printing on the heat dial, so it’s easy to figure out. The rest may as well be a foreign language.

But with so little printing space on those clothing labels, it make sense that someone had to create universal washing instructions symbols. I’ve seen a couple of variants floating around on the internet, but for the most part, these are the pretty standard ones.
