My honest review on Malie Organics Botany Beauty Box: a collection of organic, plant-based skincare products with essential oils from flowers and herbs.
Have you ever been to Hawaii? I haven’t. It’s on my travel bucket list, but after receiving the Malie Organics Botany Beauty Box I felt like I traveled to the magical Pacific islands. The clean beauty products in this box smelled of jasmine, hibiscus, pineapple, and papaya and were just heavenly.
All Malie Organics products are free from parabens, sulfates, phthalates, mineral oil, silicone, petrochemicals, talc, alcohol, PEGs and gluten-free. They are also vegan and cruelty-free. They are the quintessential clean beauty brand.
Malie Organics Botany Beauty Box
In the BotanyBeauty Box, there are four items: a Hydrosol Facial Tonic, Illuminating Serum, Luxe Eye Cream, and a Cleansing Polish scrub.
Hydrosol Facial Tonic
A blend of 100% pure Jasmine and Rose Hydrosols – delicate botanical waters that capture every element of the plant and the truest essence of the flower for an amazing aromatherapeutic blend.
This is a very mild astringent spray that’s fragrance-free and works to minimize oil and reduce the appearance of pores. You can use it after cleansing or on top of your makeup. You can also use it in your hair to help reduce frizz.
I’m not a fan of jasmine’s musky scent and, sadly, could not use it. True to their organic roots, the scent really was a natural scent. It wasn’t at all synthetic, but it was very concentrated (which speaks to the quality of the product). I will say, when I tested it, it felt nice and refreshing. If you like the scent of jasmine, you will LOVE it!
Cleansing Polish
Pineapple and Papaya Extracts naturally decongest and exfoliate dull, dead skin cells. Hibiscus Petals, Ground Olive Seeds, and Cranberry Seeds gently whisk away tired skin, to reveal a fresh, youthful glow. Rhubarb and Tangerine Extract’s natural astringent qualities cleanse, tone and condition the skin; promoting a radiant, refined complexion.
I think the Cleansing Polish is by far my favorite product in the box! The scent is very faint, and the scrub has a slightly gelatinous texture that is also hydrating.
It is very gentle and my skin felt so pampered after using it. My skin felt smooth yet hydrated. I loved that it didn’t have a strong scent, and I appreciated that the scrub is biodegrasable.
Illuminating Serum
A light, absorbent oil that hydrates while providing a natural radiance and healthy glow. A beautifully aromatic experience that will enhance any calming night routine.
While the Illuminating Serum oil is definitely lightweight, for me, I could smell the jasmine above all other oils even though its the penultimate listed oil in the list of ingredients. I must be very sensitive to this scent because I could not bring myself to apply it to my face. (This is the facial oil I cannot live without!)
Luxe Eye Cream
Powerful eye care for morning and night for visible results. A robust age-defying cream specifically designed to help restore a smoother, firmer appearance around the delicate eye area. Botanical Hyaluronic Acids perfectly assist in improving hydration while plant based Alpha Hydroxy Acids lessen visible signs of aging. A richly balanced formula of Plant Peptides and Witch Hazel help calm irritation, reduce puffiness and present a firmer looking appearance.
If you’re looking for an ultra-hydrating, fine-line fighting eye cream, this is a wonderful little worker. The Luxe Eye Cream is full to the brim with peptides and hydration. I would only use this under the eye, as it has some AHAs for slight exfoliation. See the ingredient list below.
The luxe cream sinks right into the skin after a few minutes. It lives up to the luxurious name. Thankfully this product does not contain jasmine oil (yay!) and won’t irritate me. However, I love my Beautycounter
