We had the chance to stay at the Ritz Carlton at Amelia Island recently, and the experience there never disappoints. The last time we went, my husband surprised me with a trip to the spa. (In case you were wondering, we were there on a business trip. No moneybags over here!) I was given a honey stick before my massage, and I had my choice of essential oils and lotions for the aromatherapy massage. I was in heaven.
Afterwards, I had access to the most gorgeous spa and sauna area. I obviously couldn’t take pictures in there because 1) it was the Ritz friggin’ Carlton and 2) there were naked people walking around. I sat in there for a bit, taking in the soothing music and the waterfall/hot tub, with cucumber slices on my eyes. Do they actually do anything for you? They felt nice, but do they actually do anything? I decided I didn’t care and treated myself. (My skin may have felt tighter, but that may just have been wishful thinking).
It was a pricey gift (thanks husband) that I will always remember. Being such a spa noob, I didn’t know I could stay there for hours. Oh well. Live and learn, right? However, I did take a little piece of the spa home with me. There were many lotions in the shop, and I almost bought the one the masseuse used but then I got a whiff of something sweeter. Have you heard of Farmhouse Fresh?
Farmhouse Fresh boasts paraben-free, sulfate-free, gluten-free and vegan products. And the scents? Divine. I chose the Sweet Cream Body Milk
in the pretty glass cruet.
I also went with the “smooth as a duck’s butt” Sweet Cream fine body scrub. I have yet to use it as I’m setting up my own bathroom with all of my toiletries. Our guest bathroom has been left mostly untouched (makeover reveal next week!) but I thought I might as well make use of it, right? I’ve never been one for baths, but with this body scrub and some L’Occitane products I might just be converted.
After my spa day, I returned to our inviting hotel room. Those were the only shots I took.
Because sometimes, the experience far outweighs photographs.

Dare I ask. Aren’t duck butts feathery? Am I overanalyzing the spa products?
Lisette says
Your question literally made me LOL. Hilarious. I’d assume they’re rough if the feathers were plucked? Ok, now I’m over-analyzing.

My big preggo self needs a trip to the spa like yesterday! The products sound heavenly.

I stayed at the Ritz with my grandparents when I was 17. Life. Changing. That place is so fancy I love it! And I want to try that body milk (although I wish it had a different name– “body milk” sounds like a personal problem…).
Lisette says
HAHAHAH “body milk…” I see your point. But it’s sweet cream! They should have named it “body cream.” Wait…err….
zaby says
that looks so amazing

I have to admit that I about fell out of my chair when I read the name of the scrub that you got – “Smooth As A Duck’s Butt.” But anyhow, you’ll definitely have to let us know how it works, and it always surprises me when people say that they aren’t into baths. This is probably because I find nothing more relaxing than a warm, lavender-scented bubble bath and a good book. Finally, I cannot wait to see the finished guest bathroom. :)
Lisette says
HAHA! You know… I just discovered I like the smell of lavender…but not when it’s combined with vanilla. Your bath sounds like heaven. Mind sharing what bubble bath you use?

Oh geeze. I absolutely love the ritz. Unfortunately my family that used to work for Marriott no longer does. Sadness.
