Fun times in Annapolis, Maryland for a bachelorette party.
I once heard that time with the girls does a lot for a woman’s health. Bonus points if it’s time spent doing activities that are out of the norm, creative and fun. I was glad to break the monotony of work as I travelled to Annapolis to spend a much-needed girls’ weekend celebrating one special lady.
Cinco de Mayo weekend was my sister-in-law’s cheeky “Final Fiesta” bachelorette party in Annapolis, and indeed there was no time for siestas. The cheeky phrase was screen-printed onto themed t-shirts (unfortunately, we had too much fun to pose for pictures in them).
The girls and I piled into our Mazda CX-9 since we were running late to the festivities. It was a very short ride, but I secretly loved the excuse to drive this baby!
Our first activity of the night was at Wine + Design, a nod to her love of art history. Girlfriend did a gorgeous job with her rendition of Starry Night. My painting was nothing to write home about, but at least I didn’t dunk my paint brush into my wine (this time).
We stayed in a gorgeous AirBnB in downtown Annapolis. I loved how safe the neighborhood was. And, did I forget to mention, gorgeous? It was within walking distance to everything (and I mean everything). Our bathroom window had a view of the harbor and was a stone’s throw from all of the Annapolis nightlife.
The following morning we had mimosas and breakfast at the house, followed by Afternoon Tea at Reynold’s Tavern. It was a gorgeous little walk that reminded me how beautiful Maryland is in the spring. It was fun to wear a pretty lace dress to tea, although I ordered a delicious Maryland crab sandwich with sweet potato fries.
As I enjoyed my Maryland crab sandwich, the girls got to enjoy Afternoon Tea, complete with small sandwiches, mini quiches, and all the trimmings of tea time. I ordered a tea that George Washington favored, with two lumps of sugar, thank you very much.
Saturday night we had an amazing dinner at Tsunami (also within walking distance) followed by some cocktails. We had so much fun celebrating our dear Amanda. I thoroughly enjoyed a weekend of fun and relaxation in the charming city of Annapolis.
After packing up our things, the CX-9 saved us. Although we had all parked at a nearby garage, it started pouring right before checkout. I was lucky enough to find a spot to park at (seriously, the bird’s eye view magic with this car was heaven-sent!) while we loaded the trunk. No one had to walk in the pouring rain while carrying their belongings and leftover fiesta fare.
I spent the remainder of my trip at my parents’ house, enjoying sweet snuggles with my nephews and quality time with my family. I mean, those chunky arms, am I right?
