If the title of this post makes you wonder, Is she pregnant?, sorry to disappoint. But, no. This topic actually made me stark raving mad on my 11 hour drive home (thank God for Tina Fey and Audiobooks for the companionship and distraction) as I replayed this scenario in my head.
I, for the eleven-billionth time, had to muster all my manners while someone (whom I haven’t seen in years) asked me, So, when are you having kids? Insert nervous giggle from their part.
Stop. Asking.
Moving on.
This past weekend I drove back North for a very special occasion. One of my very best friends from college got married to her long-time beau. They met when they were 11 and 12 years old. Crazy! Isn’t she gorgeous?
The pictures don’t do it justice, but the dress was to die for. Mermaid silhouette, lace from top to bottom, and it had a removable lace piece for the church wedding.
Needless to say this wedding was gorgeous. My friend Maggie and I thought we were at the set of The Wedding Crashers. White tent, vineyard, a lake, a 10-piece band, amazing hors d’eouvres, amazing entrees, open bar…it was quite the event. Not to mention that our dear friend had married her best friend. What more could you ask for? Congratulations, Lucia and Tony. Love you guys!
My little nephew is getting chunkier and chunkier…and I love it! The strange part of seeing a new generation forming, is noticing how much kids look like their grandparents or even great-grandparents. This little chunky monkey has his grandfather’s ears. Crazy!
This, in a nutshell, covers my Memorial Weekend. Who doesn’t love a nutshell?
What did you do this Memorial Weekend?

We have been married for almost 6 years and 0 kids, so of course I understand where your frustration comes into play. My response is ‘why do you ask?’. This post is rather rough around the edges if you ask me, but she is on point. Sounds like you might enjoy some of it. ;)

Amanda, thank you so much for sharing this article for me. It perfectly sums up my feelings.
I did, however, pose the article’s ideas in a nutshell on Facebook. Following up with “What if we’ve tried and have had multiple miscarriages? What if we want a child and are having problems? What if we don’t want children?” The person who asked me the question DID see the post (as she commented with a little monkey ‘speak no evil’ emojicon), and the 40+ people who either liked it or added to the conversation in agreement. Facebook, you’re not all bad after all.

Gorgeous wedding – the bride is a knockout. And you were a beautiful lady in red!

OK – have to tell you, kind of creepy what you mentioned in this post considering what I posted on today… weird lol.
Anywho, the wedding looked beautiful! Girl – if you know of anywhere that actually teaches how to pose for blog photos just sign me up. When someone’s actually taking a picture of me I feel like I look like “oh, pardon me, you just caught me mid hair flip and mid laugh” until I actually see the photo and realize it’s more “constipated deer in the headlights…”

Oh my gosh I hear you on the stop asking! Before I got pregnant, I was trying for 2 years (as you know) and that question made me want to punch people. Seriously. But anyway, the wedding looks so beautiful! And you look gorgeous as well!
